3rd & 4th Grade Girls Lacrosse
Update for 2024: Adding an extra practice time slot for the ¾ age group (scrimmages)
Our 3rd and 4th grade program is a three-day-per-week commitment, with two practices during the week and a game with their Classic team on Sundays. Multiple balanced teams will be formed in this grade group. This division, like all of the divisions in our program, is organized by school grade. Sign-ups are done on a first-come-first-served basis. There are no cuts and everyone will play, however it is expected that players make a commitment to both practices and games.
Positions for U11 (3rd/4th Grade): 8v8 ( 7 + Goalie )
- 2 Attack
- 3 Midfielders
- 2 Defense
- Goalie
Rules for U11 (3rd/4th Grade)
- Restraining Line = 5 field players allowed over midfield line (2 + Goalie back on RL)
- 1 pass required once ball crosses midfield (*attempted passes)
- No checking or triple teaming (crowding ball) / but players can double team
The goal of 3/4 lacrosse is to continue to develop a passion for the sport of lacrosse by focusing on further development of the fundamentals – passing, catching and ground balls. We will also spend time building stick skills with both hands and increasing “Lacrosse IQ”.
- Throughout the season, girls will play a variety of positions during practices and games to ensure maximum exposure and understanding of the entire game. We do not assign positions at this level.
- The biggest differences between K-2 and 3/4 are the size of the field and the introduction of a mandatory goalie.
